Abisko
Abisko area is quite a famous place in the scientific world because of all the research that has been done there over the years. For me, it was the perfect place to start my Arctic research!
Fast-forward a couple of years, and I've been back several times, not only to collect seeds for my own experiments but also to help colleagues resurvey GLORIA summits and set up ITEX warming chambers. Staying at the Abisko Scientific Research Station and the Låktatjåkka (Latja) field hut has also been a great opportunity to meet, interact with, and learn from other researchers.
And one of the best parts? After a long day of fieldwork, there's nothing better than a sauna followed by a cold plunge in one of the lakes!
